How ‘Tidy House, Tidy Mind’ Has Never Been More Relevant

You’ve probably been spending a lot of time at home over the past couple of months, due to recent events. You might be getting frustrated, which is understandable. However, it does mean that now is the perfect time for you to focus on all those household tasks you’ve been putting off for a while. Whether it’s de-cluttering or DIY, you’ll be amazed at how much better you’ll feel afterwards.

Out of Sight

Let’s start small. A vital step for keeping your house neat is having ample storage. You need to make sure you’ve got enough space to tidy, and then keep it that way. If your space is limited, don’t be afraid to get creative with it. For instance, you could build up with shelves or get drawers to go underneath your furniture. Wardrobes will play a vital role and Hammonds have a wonderful selection of them. You want to create a safe and practical space for yourself. By keeping your house neat, you can relax in the comfort of your home – without constantly spotting chores to do.

Mental Health

Yes, tidying up can make your house look better, but it can also make you feel better. Have you heard of Marie Kondo? She’s a home interior influencer who has become a household name over the past few years. If you’re unfamiliar with her method it involves sorting through your items and asking yourself whether or not they bring you joy. She says the process is also good for mental health. It encourages people to think positively about themselves, as well as help de-clutter their minds.

Physical Health

You might be surprised to learn that tidying up can also help your physical health, too. It’s just not the physical act of cleaning that causes this.  A messy environment can make you stressed, so it makes sense that if your house is cleaner you may find yourself sleeping better. It has even been suggested that de-cluttering can help clear up your skin and eating habits, too.

Work Space

If you’re currently working from home more, it’s also important for you to make sure you’ve got a tidy area so you can be productive. It’s been shown that a cluttered environment can make it difficult to focus. There are lots of little things you can do to clear your working area. Make sure you only have out what you need. For the other items, store in them in an order of priority. You need to clear the space frequently. Make your home office a space that works for you

Tidying up can make such a difference with your health. You’ll be amazed at the difference being in a clean space can make. Do you have any tips on keeping a tidy home?
